Alexander Alexandrovich Bronevitsky (July 8, 1931, Sevastopol - April 13, 1988, Nalchik) - Soviet composer, choral conductor. Founder and leader of the first in the USSR vocal ensemble "Druzhba", Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1970), first husband of Edita Piekha. In 1955, Alexander Bronevitsky created an amateur vocal ensemble, the participants were students, mostly future conductors who came to study from Eastern Europe. The international composition suggested the name - "Friendship" (this name was suggested by Edita Piekha). In 1964, the ensemble was banned, and after a short break, updated for the third time, new members were gathered from all over the USSR.
