Alexey Anatolyevich Shelygin is a Soviet and Russian composer. He was born on October 28, 1960 in Moscow. He is a graduate of the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music College and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and a student of Edison Denisov. He has written music for more than thirty plays by leading Russian theaters (Mayakovsky, Vakhtangov, Stanislavsky, and others). Shelygin also wrote music for Russian television (more than a hundred works), for example, for the programs "Dolls", "Teatr Plus TV", "Rozygrysh", and Leonid Parfenov's author programs. The composer gained even greater popularity with his music for popular TV series: "Brigada", "Shtrafbat", "Officers", "Glukhar". Alexey Shelygin is a three-time winner of the national television award "TEFI", a winner of the national film critics' award "Golden Aries", a two-time winner of the Russian recording industry award "Record" for the best-selling soundtracks, and a winner of the national award of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Nika" for the best music for a film.
