Andrey Alekseevich Usachev (born July 5, 1958, Moscow) is a Russian children's writer, poet, playwright, screenwriter, and radio host. He studied at the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology, and after his fourth year, he joined the Soviet Army. He later graduated with a degree in philology from Tver State University. He has been publishing since 1985. He has been a member of the Writers' Union since 1991. The author's books have been translated into English, French, German, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Thai, Romanian, Polish, Serbian, and Ukrainian, among other foreign languages. The textbook "Fundamentals of Life Safety" for grades 1-4, and the books "Declaration of Human Rights" and "My Geographical Discoveries" have been recommended for study in schools by the Russian Ministry of Education.
