"Born in Siberia" - a classic in every sense Soviet VIA from Omsk, both in terms of repertoire and in terms of the number of members and instruments, was created in 1967. In 1980, "Born in Siberia" took part in the festival of Soviet song performers "Sochi-80", but apart from the "Omsk Komsomol Prize" no titles were received. In the early 80s, the ensemble was renamed into the popular music group "Sprint". However, the group's popularity began to wane, in 1982, six musicians of the main composition left the Omsk Philharmonic, two of them became members of the popular Moscow group Krug, and the rest remained in Omsk and created the May group.
