David Foster (born November 1, 1949) is a Canadian singer and keyboardist, best known as one of the most successful producers in the history of popular music. Foster began his career in the early 1970s as the keyboardist for the pop group Skylark, later focusing on composition and production. He has contributed material to well-known artists in the music industry in a variety of genres. Foster has won 16 Grammy Awards, including three for Producer of the Year. Foster and his wife, Linda Thompson, were awarded the Order of Canada for their charitable endeavors.
