Ekaterina Vasilyevna Plotnikova is a Komi-Permyak singer and the author of the first musical record in the Komi-Permyak language. She was born on December 19, 1936, in the village of Tebenkovo in the Komi-Permyak National Okrug (now the Komi-Permyak Okrug of Perm Krai). In 1959, she received an invitation to work in Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic, with the ensemble "Asya Kya." In 1963, she began studying at the All-Russian Creative Workshop of Variety Art in Moscow. After graduating in 1965, she worked at the Gorky Philharmonic, and in 1972, she transferred to the Moscow Regional Philharmonic, from which she retired in 1997. In 1996, for her contribution to the development of art and high professionalism, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. She recorded three albums, and three films about her work were made with her participation. She died on August 27, 2002, in Moscow.
