Elen (born October 9, 1989 in Berlin-Marzahn; actually Elen de Jong, née Wendt) is a German singer, street singer and songwriter. Elen Wendt has a brother. She began learning to play the guitar at the age of six. This was followed by keyboards and at the age of 14 she started playing drums in a cover band. After school she was supposed to do a milliner's apprenticeship. On the advice of friends, she then preferred to devote herself to music. Elen started her career as a street musician at the age of 17. Success soon followed. Her fan base kept growing and she was able to make a living from music. Interviews in various newspapers soon followed.
