Evgeny Emmanuilovich Zharkovsky (October 30 (November 12), 1906, Kiev - February 18, 1985, Moscow) - Soviet composer. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1981). In 1927 he graduated from the Kiev musical college. In 1927-1928 he studied at the Kiev Music Institute. N. V. Lysenko at B. V. Pukhalsky and B. N. Lyatoshinsky, and in 1929 he entered the Leningrad Conservatory in piano classes L. V. Nikolaev and compositions M. A. Yudin and Y. H. Tyulin. Graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in 1934. During his studies, Evgeny Zharkovsky worked as a pianist, and then as the head of the Song Ensemble of the Leningrad House of the Red Army.
