Forest Blakk is a Montreal-born Canadian songwriter and singer who has lived in Florida and Jamaica. At the age of 15, he began to study music, having learned to play the guitar given to him by his grandmother. Shortly after moving to Calgary at the age of 21, he formed a group that later received a JUNO nomination. In the years since the band's disbandment, Black has experienced a period of profound change, eventually adopting the more soulful and folk-oriented sound that defines his music today. His groundbreaking hit song If You Love Her was released in the fall of 2020.
