She is one of the best-selling Latin music artists in history, having sold over 20 million records worldwide. Trevi is known for her emotional lyrics, performances, and lasting influence on Latin music, being dubbed the "Mexican Queen of Pop" by Rolling Stone. She is also known for the media coverage surrounding the Trevi–Andrade scandal, involving sexual abuse and forced labour led by her former manager-producer Sergio Andrade.
