Gundermann & Seilschaft is the name of the musical project of German singer-songwriter Gerhard Gundermann (1955–1998) and his backing band. Gerhard Gundermann was an iconic German musician known for his heartfelt lyrics and unique blend of musical styles (primarily rock, folk, and art song). His songs often addressed themes of everyday life in the GDR, social issues, and his personal experiences as an excavator operator in a coal mine in the Lusatia region. After Gerhard Gundermann's death in 1998, the band continued to exist, performing his songs and releasing their own albums.
