Irina Igorevna Shvedova-Demarina (stage name Irina Shvedova) (born April 28, 1959, Kishinev, Moldavian SSR) is a Russian singer, best known for her songs “White Waltz” (“Afghan Waltz”) and “America-destitute”, theater and film actress, musician, composer, songwriter, director of pop performances and programs, musical performances, stage art teacher. In 1986, she became a laureate of the Ukrainian Variety Artists Competition in the city of Khmelnitsky, after which she left the theater in the Crimean Philharmonic (Simferopol) in the ensemble “Crimea” of the People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bogatikov. Since 1990, lives and works in Moscow.
