Irina Borisovna Uvarova (born April 13, 1947) is a Soviet singer and teacher. The widow of the famous poet and songwriter Alexander Zhigarev. Since 1995, she has worked at the Moscow Drama Theater "Benefit". She was born into a musical family. She graduated from a music school in piano, then the music department of the pedagogical institute. She worked as an accompanist at Mosconcert, then became a soloist in the VIA "Blue Guitars" - she sang folk songs, foreign hits, songs of Soviet composers. Subsequently, she began to perform independently as a pop singer. The duet of Uvarova and Nikolai Karachentsov "What to Give You?" was especially popular in the 1980s. In the 1990s, the singer had to stop her concert activity and leave the stage, moving to work as a musical director at the Moscow Drama Theater "Benefit".
