Joris Ramon Buchholz (born December 1, 1989 in Stuhr-Brinkum), known by the artist name Joris (spelling: JORIS), is a German songwriter. He started making music at the age of five and wrote his first songs a few years later. He gained his first experience as a drummer in a music school band and founded his first band called The Seastream as a guitarist, pianist and singer. He received piano lessons from his uncle. Joris completed his Abitur at the Weser-Gymnasium Vlotho and then studied sound and music production for two semesters at the University of Popular Arts in Berlin. He then moved to the Pop Academy in Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim.
