Alexander Knappe (born February 15, 1985 in Wilhelm-Pieck-Stadt Guben) is a German singer who became known through his appearances in the first season of the show X Factor. He is currently under contract with Sony Music. So far he has been able to place himself in the charts with four albums. Knappe grew up in Cottbus. As a child he was active as an athlete, first in the training group of the later discus world champion Robert Harting and later as a footballer, so that at the age of 13 he was ordered by Hertha BSC to attend a sports school in Berlin. At the age of 18 he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture, which is why he was forced to end his football career. Knappe then moved back to Cottbus. At the age of 19 he started the Jandtee project together with two other musicians.
