Lou Gramm (born May 2, 1950, in Rochester, New York, USA) is an American soft rock singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the main rock band Foreigner. In 1974, Gramm founded the rock band Black Sheep. The band became the first American band to sign a contract with the British label Chrysalis, which released their first single, "Stick Around." From 1976 to 1990 and again from 1992 to 2003, he was the lead singer of Foreigner. Gramm co-wrote most of the band's songs, including the hit ballads "Waiting for a Girl Like You" and "I Want to Know What Love Is." In 1987, Gramm released his first solo album, Ready or Not. The single "Midnight Blue" became his first major solo hit. In 1991, the musician formed the band Shadow King. In 2003, Gramm left Foreigner again. He then formed The Lou Gramm Band. In 2023, he returned to touring with his group, the Lou Gramm Allstars.
