Marytale (real name Maria Shchedrinova, born January 15, 1997, in Zheleznogorsk) is a Russian indie singer, songwriter, and vocal coach. Passionate about music from a young age, she graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in the pop music department. Initially, she wrote lyrics in English, believing it more melodic and a way to "hide" from others. Over time, she found her own style and switched to Russian, realizing that as a native speaker she could convey more nuance. She collaborates with Viktor Drobysh's production center as a teacher and songwriter. She also collaborates with other artists as a songwriter (clients include Ivan, Maria Zaitseva, Alexander Panayotov, Nadezhda Angarskaya, Anton Tokarev, and participants of the show "The Voice"). She has also worked in musical theater as a vocalist.
