Matteo is the second son of the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli from his first wife Enrica Cenzatti. Matteo was born on October 8, 1997. When the boy was not even five years old, his parents divorced, and he stayed with his mother and older brother Amos. In 2015, Matteo began taking singing lessons from Andrea Bocelli, and then entered the vocal department at the conservatory. A year after classes with his father, Matteo Bocelli made his debut as a performer at the Silencio Theater in front of 12,000 spectators.
