Merab Alekseevich Partskhaladze (December 15, 1924, Tiflis, Georgian SSR, now Tbilisi, Georgia – February 14, 2008) was a Soviet, Russian, and Georgian composer and teacher. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1986). He was born into the family of composer Alexei Partskhaladze (1897–1972) and music teacher Maria Zakharovna. He took part in World War II. From 1947 to 1950, he studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory under Sergei Barkhudaryan (composition). In 1953, he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory under Semyon Bogatyrev (composition), and in 1957, he completed his postgraduate studies there. From 1953 to 1957, he taught at the Moscow Choral School. From 1957 to 1974, he was the editorial director of the Muzyka publishing house. He wrote music for plays and films. He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1946 to 1991.
