Mikhail starokadomsky (1901-1954) was a Soviet composer, organist and teacher. Laureate of the Stalin prize of the third degree (1952). M. L. Starokadomsky was born on may 31 (June 13), 1901 in Brest-Litovsk (now Brest, Belarus) in the family of a doctor, polar Explorer L. M. Starokadomsky. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in the class on A. F. Goedicke in 1926 and composition with N. Y. Myaskovsky two years later. In the USSR, the composer became widely known in the 1930s-1950s, primarily as the author of children's songs (including "Amateur angler" and "Merry travelers" ("we go, we go, we go...")).
