Miss Platnum (born Ruth Maria Renner) is a Romanian-German singer, songwriter and musician. She was born on September 27, 1980 in Timișoara, Romania. At the age of eight, her family moved to West Berlin, where she went to school. She later took singing lessons from Jocelyn B. Smith and worked as a backing vocalist for Moabeat. After her less-than-successful debut album Rock Me, released on January 31, 2005, Ruth released her second album Chefa in May 2007 under the new name Miss Platnum.
