Zero, a Soviet and Russian rock group, was founded by singer-accordionist Fyodor Chistyakov (nicknamed "Uncle Fyodor") together with drummer Alexei "Nichols" Nikolaev and Anatoly Platonov in Leningrad in the fall of 1985. After the recording of the first album, bassist Dmitry "Monster" Gusakov (who previously played in the group "Vymysl", and then in the group "Tsvetnoye Sny" with Ilya Semkin) joined the musicians, and in 1987 - guitarist Georgy Starikov. They differed from other ensembles of the late 1980s by using the button accordion as the main solo instrument of a rock group.
