Olaf Berger (born December 24, 1963 in Dresden, GDR) is a German pop singer and presenter. Olaf Berger comes from a family of musicians. The father, Lothar Berger, led the gala band Die Virginias for 30 years. After finishing school, Berger trained as a car mechanic. Then he played guitar and sang in his father's band. In 1985 he took part in the GDR youth competition Goldener Rathausmann. He then got some television appearances and the first single Esbrennt wie Feuer was released. In 1987 his first album of the same name was released. This made Olaf Berger one of the most successful pop singers in the GDR. He has received numerous prizes and awards.
