Pavel Yakovlevich Slobodkin (May 9, 1945, Moscow - August 8, 2017, Moscow) - Soviet and Russian composer, music producer, director and teacher. Founder and permanent leader of the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Merry Fellows" from 1966 until his death in 2017. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1993). In March 1966, he created one of the first vocal and instrumental ensembles in the USSR - "Merry Fellows". In 1968, the ensemble was the first in the USSR to become a laureate of the I-prize of the All-Union competition "For the best performance of a youth song." In 1969, the Vesyolye Rebyata ensemble won the I-prize of the All-Union competition "For the best performance of a Soviet song." In December 1969, the ensemble recorded the first solo record-minion.
