“Rock Island” is a Soviet and Russian group performing songs in the style of disco and dance music, formed in 1986 in the city of Vorsma, Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) region. The leader of the group, the permanent music author and main vocalist - Vladimir Zakharov. October 30, 1986 the team took part in the first Gorky rock festival. At the festival, the band played a program of ten songs and became a laureate. She performed at the gala concert. Repeated participation in a similar festival in 1987 did not bring previous success.
