Rodney Kumbirayi Hwingwiri was born in Kariba, Zimbabwe where he quickly adopted a love of music that was nurtured by his parent’s eclectic tastes that ranged fr om UB40 to the late Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi. At 13 Rymez immigrated fr om Zimbabwe to the United Kingdom wh ere he quickly ingratiated himself in music and the arts as an escape. At school he was given the moniker Rymez by classmates for the poems and raps he performed in-between lessons. It was during these formative years as an artist that Rymez was introduced to software like Dance eJay and Adobe Audition which is wh ere he began producing and recording music on his mother’s desktop computer. In 2020 Rymez and Loredana published the song Angst, which reached number one in Germany and Austria.
