Semyon Klimovsky (Ukrainian Semyon Klimovsky, also - Klimov, Klimiv; late 17th - early 18th century, about 1705, probably Slobozhanshchina, - late 18th century, around 1785, the village of Pryputni (now part of the village of Moshorino, Znamensky district (Kirovograd region ), Ukraine) - Ukrainian philosopher, writer, poet, Cossack of the Kharkiv suburban Cossack regiment. The best known for the authorship of the song "The Cossack rode across the Danube" (Ukr. Їkhav Kozak across the Danube). He also wrote a book: "On the truth and generosity of benefactors" (1724 Klimovsky is credited with several more books of Peter's time and several poems (“I don’t want anyone, only you alone”), as well as “On the coming of the Swedish king Charles XII inside Ukraine”, “On the betrayal of Mazepa” (in poetry) and On the Justice of Commanders.
