Svetlana Andreevna Toma (real surname Fomicheva) is a Soviet, Moldovan and Russian actress. 12 She was born on May 24, 1947 in Chisinau. She gained international fame thanks to her leading role in Emil Loteanu's film "The Gypsies Are Going to Heaven" (1976). The rights to show the film were purchased by 112 countries. In 1969, Svetlana Toma graduated from the Chisinau Institute of Arts named after G. Muzychescu, and then from the acting department of the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography. Some awards: Honored Artist of the Moldavian SSR (1979), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2001), People's Artist of the Republic of Moldova (2008).
