Thomas D, whose real name is Thomas Dürr (born December 30, 1968, in Stuttgart), is a German rapper and a member of the hip-hop group Die Fantastischen Vier. He also performs solo. As a solo artist under the stage name Thomas D, he has achieved success with his albums Solo (1997) and Lektionen in Demut (2001). Among his best-known tracks are Rückenwind, Frisör, Liebesbrief, and Solo (with Nina Hagen), as well as Wish, sung with Franka Potente, from the film Lola rennt. His solo releases are known for profound lyrics with philosophical themes. He even attempted a rap of several poems by Schiller and Goethe. Besides Die Fantastischen Vier, Thomas D was also the singer and lyricist of the band Son Goku, which entered the charts in 2002 with the song Alle für Jeden from the album Crashkurs.
