Valkyrie is a Soviet and Russian metal band. The band was formed in 1989 by composer and keyboardist Alexander Dronov. The original lineup included Alexander Dronov (keyboards, composer), Vasily Dronov (bass), Sergey Savin (guitar), Maxim Udalov (drums), and Olga Lebedeva (vocals). In March 1990, Valkyrie performed at the Iron March festival, where they presented a program based on a synthesis of symphonic music and extreme forms of heavy metal with rough female vocals. As of September 4, 2025, the band released the single "Mistress of the Copper Mountain."
