Vasily Fyodorovich Vasilyev (born January 1, 1950) is a Soviet and Russian actor and singer, who became famous for his role as Yashka the Gypsy in the film The Elusive Avengers. Vasily Vasilyev lived in a gypsy camp in a large family (14 children) until he was six years old. His mother was Evdokia Nikolaevna Vasilyeva (1923-1995). According to the actor, his second cousin is actor Yuri Tsurilo. He learned to sing songs with a guitar and ride a horse when he was still very young. After the decree on the settled life of the Gypsies (1956), the camp settled in the city of Vyazniki in the Vladimir region, where Vasilyev spent his school years. From the age of 12, he worked in a weaving factory. He always studied well, attended an amateur art club at school, played the trumpet and led two music clubs. At the age of 12, he wrote his first song.
