Viktor Ivanovich Pelenyagre (Mold. Victor Peleneagră; born March 22, 1959, Zguritsa village, Drochievskiy district, Moldavian SSR) is a Russian poet, songwriter, prose writer, playwright, essayist, translator. In the 1980s, he was a member of the Order of Courtly Mannerists. Since the 1990s, he has been known mainly as a songwriter. The author of the words of the national anthem of Russia "How delightful evenings are in Russia." Author of many songs: “Fog is descending from the high mountains”, “Putin and Stalingrad are behind us” (the White Eagle group), “Acapulco”, “I went to Piccadilly”, “What the pianist is playing about” (Laima Vaikule), “ My Maiden-Girl”, “Port Said”, “The Bay of Biscay” (Sergey Krylov), “The barrel-organ is still crying” (Nikolai Baskov), “Call me softly by name” (Lyube group) and so on.
