Vladislav Alexandrovich Uspensky (September 7, 1937, Omsk - June 4, 2004, St. Petersburg) - Soviet and Russian composer, professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, author of the musical Anna Karenina. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1988). Student of B. A. Arapov and D. D. Shostakovich. V. A. Uspensky is the author of the operas War with the Salamanders, Intervention, as well as 8 ballets, cantatas, over 100 songs, numerous symphonic, oratorio and chamber works, music for drama performances, musicals and films.
