Jeffery Lamar Williams (born August 16, 1991), known professionally as Young Thug, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Young Thug came to recognition after joining 1017 Records, where he released several mixtapes, including his critically lauded debut 1017 Thug. His contributions to the label further grew his public image, and allowed Young Thug to release his debut commercial single "Stoner", which peaked at number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later certified gold. This success, coupled with label issues, enabled Young Thug to secure a recording contract with 300 Entertainment in 2014.
