Julia Zapolskaya-Whitney (Yulya Whitney, 1919-1965) - performer of songs and romances, composer, arranger, author of texts of several Soviet songs of the 40s. One of the most notable and talented singers of the second "wave of Russian emigration" (post-war, 1944-54), she splendidly performed a real genre song and old Russian romances. In 1953 she emigrated to the United States. Since 1992, Yulia Zapolskaya-Whitney's recordings from the archives of the "Monitor Records" recording company began to appear in America again. The singer's first official CD in Russia was released for the first time only in 2002.
