Yuri (Georgy) Sergeevich Milyutin (5 [18] April 1903, Moscow - 9 June 1968, Moscow) - Soviet composer, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1964), laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree (1949). Yuri Milyutin was born in Moscow into the family of an employee. In 1918 he graduated from the Moscow Real School. In 1917-1919 he also received his elementary musical education at the music courses of V. K. Kossovsky. He was a dramatic actor at the Chamber Theater (1920), the Moscow Sofronov Theater (1921), as well as at the Moscow Experimental Heroic Theater (1922), for the performances of which ("The Piggy Bank" by E. Labish and NR Erdman, "The Marriage" N.V. Gogol) 19-year-old Yu.S. Milyutin composed music.
