Igor Latyshko was born on June 20, 1961 in Leningrad. Father - Ukrainian, military, mother - Russian. In the early 1980s, Igor became a soloist with the Nevsky Fakel political song ensemble, and a few years later he joined the Double-1 quartet. In 1986, Igor Latyshko left the Double-1 group and assembled his own team called Novy Svet. In 1989, Novy Svet worked as an opening act for Igor Kornelyuk, playing up to forty concerts a month. In the early 1990s, Latyshko & Co. toured already solo, although music in the collapsing Soviet Union was becoming less and less in demand.
