Charles Aznavour was a French singer and composer of Armenian origin, also a writer, poet, and actor. A true master of chanson, he became one of the most famous French performers of the 20th century. His career began in the 1940s and continued for decades.

His work spans chanson, variety music, French song, and pop. He is best known for “La Bohème,” “Hier encore,” and “Une vie d'amour.”

He recorded about 1,300 songs and wrote more than 1,000, including for other performers. “Une vie d'amour” was recorded as a duet with Mireille Mathieu, and “La Bohème” became one of his main international hits.
