Bryan Adams, born Bryan Guy Adams on November 5, 1959, in Kingston, Ontario, is a Canadian singer and songwriter who became one of the most successful rock performers of the 1980s and 1990s. His international breakthrough came with Cuts Like a Knife and especially Reckless. Fans around the world know him for “Summer of ’69,” “Heaven,” “Run to You,” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You.” He also wrote “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?” for the film Don Juan DeMarco, while “Christmas Time” remains a seasonal favorite. Many listeners use his songs to learn expressive melodic phrasing.
His music blends rock, arena rock, pop-rock, and soft rock, combining strong hooks with emotional vocals and memorable songwriting. “Summer of ’69” became one of the most recognizable rock hits of the decade. “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” topped charts in many countries and won a Grammy for film-related songwriting.
