XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy in Plantation, Florida, was a key U.S. voice of the 2010s SoundCloud rap wave. Fans still learn his music through tracks like “Ex Bitch,” “BAD!,” and “The Remedy for a Broken Heart (Why Am I So in Love).”
His style joined hip-hop, rap, emo-rap, trap, and alternative R&B. The violin can suit the emotional edge of this repertoire. He was known for “Look at Me!,” “Jocelyn Flores,” “Sad!,” and “Moonlight,” as well as the albums 17, ?, Skins, and the posthumous Bad Vibes Forever. Some arrangements may suggest violin chords for modern performance practice.
His rise was rapid in 2017–2018: 17 reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while ? topped the chart. His songs kept strong streaming impact after his death in 2018, and many listeners continue to play them today.
