Blackstreet (often stylized as BLACKstreet) is an American R&B group founded in 1993 by record producers Thomas R. Taliaferro, Chauncey "Black" Hannibal, and Teddy "Street" Riley. In 1993, their first single "Baby Be Mine" was released on the soundtrack to the Universal Pictures comedy CB4 (starring Chris Rock). The song was written by Riley and Stonestreet and produced by Riley. Their debut album, Blackstreet, featured the singles "Booti Call", "Before I Let You Go" and "Joy". On June 25, 2019, The New York Times Magazine listed Blackstreet among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire.
