Frédéric Chopin was a Polish-French composer, born in 1810 near Warsaw and active mainly in Paris. A child prodigy, he became one of the central voices of Romanticism. His art was built around the piano, with a poetic manner, rich harmony, and expressive chromatic color.
He is known for mazurkas, polonaises, nocturnes, ballades, études, and two concertos. His legacy shaped the language of classical music and inspired later performers. Many listeners learn his style through Waltz in F major, Op. 34 No. 3. Piano sheet music helps explore this refined repertoire.
Prelude in C Major Op. 28 No. 1 belongs to his famous set of 24 preludes. The Étude Op. 10 No. 12, the “Revolutionary,” remains one of his best-known works.
