Gary Jenkins, who also performed under the aliases Gary Picketson and Guy Khalifa, was a French singer/songwriter who released pop and rock songs in the 1970s before abandoning the moniker. He is well known in France for tracks like "Mary Springfield" and "Look at Yourself". After 1977, he ceased releasing music under the Gary Jenkins name. He later worked as a musician and vocalist alongside the French progressive rock band Magma, performing as Guy Khalifa.
