Harlœ [stage/songwriting name as of 2017] was born Jessica Ashley Karpov in Queens, New York, she is the child of Laura and Igor Karpov. Her sister, Suzanne, is an Opera Singer. She is of Russian and Romanian descent. Ashley graduated from Lynbrook High School in Lynbrook, NY in 2010 and attended performing arts school, NYU & Clive Davis School of Recorded Music, NY. She has been performing as a singer/songwriter under the name ‘Jessica Ashley’ as of 2009. In April 2014, Ashley signed a record deal with Epic Records as ‘Jessica Ashley’. In 2017, she signed to boutique label and artist management company Crooked Paintings under the moniker Harlœ.
