Johannes Strate is a German musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the German rock band Revolverheld. He was born on March 17, 1980 in Worpswede (Bremen, Germany). He grew up in Worpswede near Bremen with his guitarist father and pianist mother. At the age of 14, he founded his first band, Second Floor. He co-founded Revolverheld in 2002. The band was first called Manga, then Tsunamikiller, but was renamed Revolverheld in late 2004. He has released numerous albums and singles in Germany, including the popular tracks "Ich lass für dich das Licht an", "Das kann uns keiner nehmen" and "Helden 2008". He has been a judge on the shows "The Voice Kids" and "Deutschland sucht den Superstar".
