Stefanie Kloß (born October 31, 1984 in Bautzen) is a German singer, best known as the frontwoman of the pop-rock band Silbermond. Stefanie Kloß grew up with an older sister in Caminau in Upper Lusatia, Saxony. As a student she gained her first musical experiences in a choir of the youth music project Ten Sing. Through a friend she was introduced to her cousins Johannes and Thomas Stolle in 1998. With Andreas Nowak (drums) and Maximilian Maneck (keyboards) they founded the six-piece cover band Exakt. From 2000 Kloß, Nowak and the Stolle brothers formed the band JAST, which was renamed Silbermond in 2002. In 2003 the band signed a record deal with BMG; in the same year Kloß passed his Abitur at the Philipp-Melanchthon-Gymnasium in Bautzen.
