Tyla Laura Seethal (born 30 January 2002), known professionally as Tyla, is a South African singer, songwriter and dancer. Born and raised in Johannesburg, she signed to Epic Records in 2021 after the domestic success of her debut single "Getting Late" featuring Kooldrink. Tyla rose to international prominence with her 2023 single "Water", which gained popularity on TikTok following a viral dance challenge. She has been nominated for one South African Music Award.
