Wolfgang Ziegler is a German rock and pop musician and composer. He was born on October 8, 1943 in Rostock (Germany). In the early 1960s, he began playing beat music as a pianist and singer in the Beat-Quartett ensemble, which was renamed Baltics in 1964 and became one of the most popular groups in the north of the GDR. In 1970, he moved to Berlin, where he studied vocals for three years at the Variety Music College and composition at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. In 1971, Ziegler's first record was released with the song "So wie Du" (Same as You). A year later, the musician formed the rock band WIR ("We"). Ziegler played keyboards and guitar, and also became the main vocalist and author of most of the band's musical material. As of April 2024, Ziegler's latest release is the single "Die ersten Träume sterben nie".
