Humpe & Humpe (also Humpe • Humpe or Inga & Anete Humpe) was the name of the joint music project of the German musician sisters, pop singers and music producers Annette (* 1950) and Inga Humpe (* 1956). In 1985 and 1987, the duo released the albums Humpe • Humpe and Swimming with Sharks, respectively, followed by singles from these albums. Swimming with Sharks was also the band name under which Inga and Anete Humpe attempted to expand their career into English-speaking countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, as the name "Humpe" seemed less suitable for this purpose; however, they did not achieve any notable success in these countries. Before and after the Humpe • Humpe project, Inga belonged to various bands, including Neonbabies, DÖF, and 2raumwohnung; as did Annette, who was active in Ideal and Ich + Ich, among others. She produced Rio Reiser, Heiner Pudelko, Die Prinzen, Lucilectric and Palais Schaumburg. Both of the sisters' albums and two singles reached the charts.
