Mechtat' is a Russian rock band. They are best known for their song "Pilot" from the album of the same name. The band was originally called "Gaer Georges". In 1995, the final lineup of the band was formed, Alexander Shulgin became the producer of the band, and the name was changed to "Mechtat'". In 1996, a video for the song "Pilot" was released. On December 20, 1996, the Becar Records label released an album of the same name, which included 14 songs; videos were later shot for the songs "Knock-Knock", "February" and "I See Dreams". The album was a great success with the public and received positive reviews from music critics. In 1999, the band ceased operations due to a conflict with the producer. The band actually broke up due to the impossibility of giving concerts and recording songs anymore, since all rights to the compositions, videos and the name of the band belong to Shulgin.
